Job Description

This is a tremendous opportunity for a self-motivated, creative, and dedicated leader with significant experience in commercial installations to lead and develop our Field Engineers.

The successful candidate will be accountable for delivery customer installations on time, in full, to budget and that meet company expectations of quality and standards. This will be achieved by managing a UK-wide team deploying an appropriate balance of hands-on and remote management that provides support, coaching and mentorship.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain a technically competent team with the best fit competencies for our company needs, from apprentices to technically competent technicians and engineers
  • Deliver team productivity and efficiency
  • Create the infrastructure to deliver a high performing UK-wide installations operation
  • Set your team up for repeatable success through effective ways of working
  • Develop processes, standards, and quality controls
  • Structure the UK deployment of resources with appropriate consideration for: commercial; customer; compliance; and colleague needs  
  • Set clearly defined installation performance standards and delivery quality
  • Ensure a clear structure of performance monitoring, control, and business reporting for delivering performance standards and installation delivery quality
  • Communicate with other internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Develop a customer focused mindset within your team
  • Ensure site inspections are conducted in partnership with other stakeholders to monitor installation delivery against agreed customer expectations
  • Motivate performance through a shared understanding of the HT vision and purpose, recognizing that values and behaviours are critical to HT ‘one team’ success
  • Ensure all team members are provided with the necessary health and safety provisions for the safe execution of their role
  • Deliver the commercial performance required of your team, monitoring and reporting performance monthly against key performance indicators

Requirements

  • Electrical qualification and experience
  • Extensive relevant industry experience, managing & commissioning commercial installations in new and established environments
  • Knowledge and understanding in one or more of, Access Control, Immersive Lighting, Audio Visual, installations within the Leisure, Fitness, Retail, Hospitality, or similar commercial establishments
  • Demonstrable ability to set and manage self and a multidisciplined team to high standards of quality and outcomes
  • Health & Safety certification and experience
  • Risk management experience
  • A natural problem solver
  • Resource management or scheduling experience
  • Comparable team management (multi-skilled and geographically dispersed)
  • Collaborative leadership style
  • Coach, Mentor, and Trainer with experience of apprentice programme management
  • Data management and reporting  
  • Resilient particularly in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Flexible with an appropriate level of mobility to support a UK wide team, willing to travel including overnight stays with occasional travel to Europe
  • Hold a clean and full driving licence
  • Hold the right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Degree qualified engineer
  • Professionally qualified manager
  • Qualified trainer with SQA or TAP or similar
  • Nebosh general certification
  • IOSH certification  
  • Familiar with Joblogic software
