Job Description

We’re looking to expand our busy Projects team by hiring a self-motivated Project Manager who will play a key supporting role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and bringing projects to a successful conclusion. A key requirement to this role is the ability to listen carefully, consolidate learnings and act accurately and decisively.  The successful applicant will coordinate and collaborate with other departments ensuring all aspects of each project are delivered on-time, on-budget, technically correct, installed to the highest standards and the result delivers to the customer brief.  

Who we are looking for

You’ll already have an awareness of project management within your current role and as a quick learner be keen to develop your experience further.  You hold excellent time management skills, and over time, as your experience grows, are prepared to take responsibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are technically correct, installed to the highest standards and delivers on the customer brief, on time and within budget.  

We’re looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will fit within our collaborative culture. It’s fair to say we’ll need you to be flexible this role will require some additional effort from time-to-time especially around project deadlines and completion dates.  You will also be required to visit project locations across the UK and mainland Europe as part of kick-off, planning, progress, and handover meetings.

Main Duties

  • Taking agreed project work scopes, clarifying specific requirements of each project, hold full understanding and alignment against sales quotation to complete projects successfully.
  • Proactively sourcing, understanding and applying all project technical and Contract documents.
  • Create and manage the project plan and delivery schedule. 
  • Produce detailed information packs and instruction for both internal team members and field engineers ensuring circulation of information required to configure, install and commission the project. 
  • Support monitoring of projects by providing regular job progress reports.
  • Leading projects and proactively maximising efficiencies and customer satisfaction, maintaining close supervision ensuing installation work meets company best standard.
  • Obtaining and reviewing quotation for good and services from sub-contractors.  
  • Testing, or certifying the performance of installed systems, providing, or arranging client training, as necessary.
  • Ensuring efficient and effective hand over of project to Service department.
  • Supervision of personnel and activities relating to project, both on and off site, including providing regular touch point and toolbox talks.
  • Managing and monitoring labour costs and escalating concerns to management. 
  • Facilitating internal project kick-off meeting with key stakeholders. 
  • Coordinating all in-house activities associated with project execution. 
  • Function as the focal point for internal and external project communication and documentation. 
  • Oversee the ordering and competitive procurement of materials as per company policy. 
  • Coordinate with installation/operations manager to schedule personnel for installation. 
  • Proactively manage the Change Order process.

What you’ll need to be successful in the role

  • Some commercial installation experience, ideally within AV/Electrical/IT/Access Control
  • Able to demonstrate awareness electrical/mechanical engineering  
  • Experience of working within a construction site environment and have exceptional client-facing communication skills.  
  • Excellent time management, and a keen attention to detail.
  • A passion for technology and the ability to learn new software quickly.  As well as being proficient in Microsoft office, including Project software (ideally NAV)
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to inspire, develop and mentor others whilst maintaining own workload commitments.
  • Driving Licence
