Job Description

The Opportunity

A vacancy has arisen for an CAD Technician to support the planning and execution of company drawings. Reporting to our Design Manager you will have experience using AutoCAD and Revit, and be able to apply mechanical and electrical knowledge to enhance designs and drawings. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to meet deadlines.

Main Duties

• Create and implement electrical design and installation drawings in accordance with the Company Drawing Standards.
• Understand requirements and be able to apply architectural, electrical and mechanical knowledge to enhance designs and drawings.
• Create 2D and 3D conceptual drawings to compliment sales proposals provided to customers.
• Create 2D installation drawings issue to client/ contractors/ installation engineers capturing all AV/ data/ access control/ builder/ electrical/ containment requirements so these can be easily understood by all.
• Maintaining and adding new blocks to the Hutchi block Library in organised and methodical manner as laid out on the Company Drawing Standards.
• Accurate revision control in line with the Company Drawing Standards.
• Maintain accurate records for each project, essential for providing information to other departments.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and quality of the drawings.
• Ensure deadlines are met and proactive communications are always provided.
• Communicate across company teams and with external contractors, interpreting both verbal and written design briefs.
• Use company scheduling tools to maintain accurate dates for completion and managing colleagues’ expectations on when items will be ready to ensure this can be proactively communicated to the customers.
• Be an active and motivated team member, contributing to our one team culture and company environment.

Requirements

• Experience of electrical, hydro sanitary or other similar installations
• Practical experience of AutoCAD, gained over approximately 2 years

Desirables

• Degree in Electrical or Civil engineering
• Certificated qualification in computer aided design,specifically AutoCAD at level intermediate.
• Experience Revit or interest in learn.
• Experience of working in a design capacity on Access Control, or Lighting or Audio Installations or Electrical developments
• Working as part of a team to deliver shared goals.
